Life Forms 2.1 now supports both import and export of VRML 1.0. and export of VRML 2.0 with animation data for 3D presentation on the web!! The VRML plugins were last updated October 3. These plugins have fixed the missing comma problem in the position interpolator field. Visit our VRML page for more VRML information.

For non-powermac users and non-ei users The BioVision plugin is now available for Life Forms 2.1. Life Forms imports and exports BioVision .bvh files and exports BioVision .bva files to support motion capture data. The BioVision plugin is also used to support ElectricImage users.

New Improved plugins for ElectricImage

Updated BioVision BVH export plugin (Power Macintosh only) and new FACT import plugin. The BioVision BVH export plugin has an option to export in meters (default is in inches) and left hand coordinate system. These options MUST be checked for use with FACT models imported into Life Forms from ElectricImage (see Fact Import Plugin readme for details). If you are not an ElectricImage user, you do not need to install this version of the BioVision plugin!!

3D Studio Plugin

The 3D Studio plugin imports models into Life Forms and exports animation data using the 3D Studio keyscripter. To import into Life Forms, click on the Macintosh link to get the 3D Studio plugin. To export from 3D Studio into Life Forms, use the 3D Studio "life" plugin. Once downloaded, this plugin needs to be placed in the root of the 3DS folder. The "life" plugin is available as a .zip file; click on the Windows link.

Extreme 3D Plugin

Models are imported from Extreme3D into Life Forms 2.1 using the Swivel3D format. In Life Forms 2.1, models can be imported from Extreme3D using the Life Forms VRML plugin. Animations are exported using Extreme3D TRAX with a keyframes only option. The Extreme3D plugin is included with Life Forms 2.0.5 and later releases.

Life Forms imports models from any 3D program which exports VRML1.0 or Swivel3D. Life Forms exports animation to any program which accepts BioVision .bvh, BioVision .bva or VRML2.0. For example, Life Forms exports to PIXEL PUTTY with its BioVision .bva export! |
